Has God Failed Me?

“I love you Jesus, but I have a low grade hesitation in my spirit now that’s an unperceived offense.” - Mike Bickle

Genesis 4:1-8 NAS "Now the man had relations with his wife Eve, and she conceived and gave birth to Cain, and she said, "I have gotten a manchild with the help of the Lord." Again, she gave birth to his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of flocks, but Cain was a tiller of the ground. So it came about in the course of time that Cain brought an offering to the Lord of the fruit of the ground. Abel, on his part also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of their fat portions. And the Lord had regard for Abel and for his offering; but for Cain and for his offering He had no regard. So Cain became very angry and his countenance fell. Then the Lord said to Cain, "Why are you angry? And why has your countenance fallen? "If you do well, will not your countenance be lifted up? And if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the door; and its desire is for you, but you must master it." Cain told Abel his brother. And it came about when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother and killed him."

♦ "When we do stuff FOR God instead of WITH God, we set ourselves up to be offended" ♦

Matthew 11:4-6 NKJV "Jesus answered and said to them, 'Go and tell John the things which you hear and see:  The blind see and the lame walk; the lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear; the dead are raised up and the poor have the gospel preached to them. And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me.'"

Proverbs 3:5-6 NKJV "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths."

Matthew 24:10 AMP "And then many will be offended and repelled and will begin to distrust and desert [Him Whom they ought to trust and obey] and will stumble and fall away and betray one another and pursue one another with hatred."

How to resolve offense in our lives:

  •  Set "God is good all the time" as a core value.
  •  Be responsible for your part in your failed results.
  •  Be thankful to God for what is going on in your life right now.
  •  “In all your ways acknowledge Him”.

Deuteronomy 31:8 ESV "It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; He will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed."
