Faith Forward

What are your “YES” actions with God?

2 Thessalonians 1:3 NKJV We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is fitting, because your faith grows exceedingly, and the love of every one of you all abounds toward each other

Vision drives us

Motivational objectives in churches today:

  • Build and pay off structures

  • Benevolent work

  • To please God (by being in church or doing something)

At LFMC we have 2 main focuses:

  1. To connect you to the Father and eliminate anything that interferes with that connection

  2. Fulfill our part in God’s kingdom in the days we live in

Isaiah 37:30-32 NAS 30 "Then this shall be the sign for you: you will eat this year what grows of itself, in the second year what springs from the same, and in the third year sow, reap, plant vineyards and eat their fruit. 31 "The surviving remnant of the house of Judah will again take root downward and bear fruit upward. 32 "For out of Jerusalem will go forth a remnant and out of Mount Zion survivors. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this."'

During the years we lose people in their 3rd year stage

  • This is the stage that you must develop the skill set to push into God

    • Up to this point God has been the one pushing in to you

    • It’s easy being a kid - no worries over finances, work

Why is the 3rd season the hardest?

  • It’s work

    • It takes an active pursuit of Him or you aren’t fed

    • Sports are the funnest with played casually but to win it takes work

    • It takes purposed heat producing actions to counter the cold culture of the world

  • Boredom

    • Everything is fun when it’s new but to continue to press in through familiarity requires the development of a self drive

  • Distractions

    • Because of the work needed and the boredom the distractions are hard to resist
