The key to selling a product is to show the value of it

  • Then once value is created it produces perceived need or want.
    • Then perceived need or want is weighed out against cost.

Positive product valuation happens when Value + Benefits > Cost

In business you have to make perceived need outweigh the cost to produce sell ability.

Product valuation is subjective and influenced by Perceived Need or Want

One of the hardest things to sell is physical fitness.

Some products are an easy sell such as Facebook

Or church services or salvation

  • Attendance is the result of creating value

The biblical product is the kingdom

Matthew 6:33 NAS Seek (Gr. go after) first His kingdom and His righteousness

Jesus tried to “sell” the unseen kingdom by telling it’s value, it’s benefits, how it works, how you’ll lose it and it’s cost.

Why value my product?

  1. Ease of use
    1. Love the Lord, Love others
  2. Great tech support if you fail at 1a.
  3. Produces money and health if used properly
  4. Shame and guilt remover
  5. Eternal benefits

How do you create value for Spiritual things when someone doesn't know what they're missing?

Again, many think they’ve made the purchase by saying a salvation prayer.

They place little or no value in:

  • Increasing in God knowledge
  • Enduring hardships
  • Exercising their faith
  • Qualifying to inherit the kingdom
    • So no value is placed on:
      • What they’re taught
      • Giving everything
      • Putting God first
        • All because they believe they’ve already bought the product.

What decreases value of the kingdom

  • Lack of vision of necessity
  • Increased value of another product
  • Lack of performance of product or similar product

One of the challenges with the kingdom is to show value & benefits against cost.

Two of the greatest motivators to buy are fear and want.

  • Fear can be used good or bad.

Here are 5 consumers that did not value the product enough to buy it

  • Matthew 25:1-13 NAS 1 "Then the kingdom of heaven will be comparable to ten virgins, who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom.  2 "Five of them were foolish, and five were prudent.  3 "For when the foolish took their lamps, they took no oil with them,  4 but the prudent took oil in flasks along with their lamps.  5 "Now while the bridegroom was delaying, they all got drowsy and began to sleep.  6 "But at midnight there was a shout, 'Behold, the bridegroom! Come out to meet him.'  7 "Then all those virgins rose and trimmed their lamps.  8 "The foolish said to the prudent, 'Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.'  9 "But the prudent answered, 'No, there will not be enough for us and you too; go instead to the dealers and buy some for yourselves.'  10 "And while they were going away to make the purchase, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding feast; and the door was shut.  11 "Later the other virgins also came, saying, 'Lord, lord, open up for us.'  12 "But he answered, 'Truly I say to you, I do not know you.'  13 "Be on the alert then, for you do not know the day nor the hour.
