Dividing Truth

Our vision will be impaired

There is a fight for the minds of people today

You can't have the unconditional love of God and people

You can feel God's Spirit and be used in gifts

But without the truth you'll never be free and made ready

Are you afraid of the truth

We need to learn how to handle truth we give and are given

You and I are called to develop a skill set that you will be able to handle a word of Truth and shave off personal motives and other things and still absorb the truth.

Things that keep us from listening to the truth.

Defensive notice, low self View, harsh delivery.

2 Timothy 2:14-19 NKJV 14 Remind them of these things, charging them before the Lord not to strive about words to no profit, to the ruin of the hearers. 15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 16 But shun profane and idle babblings, for they will increase to more ungodliness. 17 And their message will spread like cancer. Hymenaeus and Philetus are of this sort, 18 who have strayed concerning the truth, saying that the resurrection is already past; and they overthrow the faith of some. 19 Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: "The Lord knows those who are His," and, "Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity."

The empty chatter or the wrangling about words that is talked about here is the people trying to reduce or explain away the truth

2 Timothy 2:14-19 AMP 14 Remind [the people] of these facts and [solemnly] charge them in the presence of the Lord to avoid petty controversy over words, which does no good but upsets and undermines the faith of the hearers. 15 Study and be eager and do your utmost to present yourself to God approved (tested by trial), a workman who has no cause to be ashamed, correctly analyzing and accurately dividing [rightly jhandling and skillfully teaching] the Word of Truth.

16 But avoid all empty (vain, useless, idle) talk, for it will lead people into more and more ungodliness.

17 And their teaching [will devour; it] will eat its way like cancer or spread like gangrene. So it is with Hymenaeus and Philetus,

18 Who have missed the mark and swerved from the truth by arguing that the resurrection has already taken place. They are undermining the faith of some.

19 But the firm foundation of (laid by) God stands, sure and unshaken, bearing this seal (inscription): The Lord knows those who are His, and, Let everyone who names [himself by] the name of the Lord give up all iniquity and stand aloof from it.

It is our responsibility to trim what is not true off of the truth

We must inspect information presented to us and inspect it to determine what is the pure truth.

Again from last week, 100% pure truth produces freedom

An effective lie is a truth wrapped with twists.
