How the Law Creates Christ in Us

Let’s focus on the moral laws.

Maturity must precede power

  • Or power becomes a destructive weapon instead of a building tool

Haggai 1:1-9 NAS 1 In the second year of Darius the king, on the first day of the sixth month, the word of the Lord came by the prophet Haggai to Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, saying, 2 "Thus says the Lord of hosts, 'This people says, "The time has not come, even the time for the house of the Lord to be rebuilt."'" 3 Then the word of the Lord came by Haggai the prophet, saying, 4 "Is it time for you yourselves to dwell in your paneled houses while this house lies desolate?" 5 Now therefore, thus says the Lord of hosts, "Consider your ways! 6 "You have sown much, but harvest little; you eat, but there is not enough to be satisfied; you drink, but there is not enough to become drunk; you put on clothing, but no one is warm enough; and he who earns, earns wages to put into a purse with holes."

7 Thus says the Lord of hosts, "Consider your ways! 8 "Go up to the mountains, bring wood and rebuild the temple, that I may be pleased with it and be glorified," says the Lord. 9 "You look for much, but behold, it comes to little; when you bring it home, I blow it away. Why?" declares the Lord of hosts, "Because of My house which lies desolate, while each of you runs to his own house.

  • your ways (Strong’s) derek (deh'-rek); from OT:1869; a road (as one that has been walked down); figuratively, a course of life or mode of action.

  • Consider your ways in Young’s Literal Translation “Set your heart to your ways.” means to examine your heart as to the path you have been traveling.

Prosperity/money is power

Power in the hands of the broken or someone that has demonic influence by attachment is very dangerous.

How many times have we thought, “if I had the ability to harm you I would.”

“If I could I'd buy your company and fire you”

“When I get to be the group leader they are out”

Galatians 3:23-26 NAS 23 But before faith came, we were kept in custody under the law, being shut up to the faith which was later to be revealed. 24 Therefore the Law has become our tutor (KJV schoolmaster) to lead us to Christ, so that we may be justified by faith. 25 But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor. 26 For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.

  • In a kingdom the heirs of the kingdom are trained by trustworthy servants.

  • The law is that trustworthy servant who properly raises us to act like a king’s child.

    • A child that will carry on the rule of the kingdom in the exact way their father does

Justified (Strong’s) dikaios (dik'-ah-yos); equitable (in character or act); to render just or innocent; by implication, innocent, holy.

Romans 2:12-13 NAS 12 For all who have sinned without the Law will also perish without the Law, and all who have sinned under the Law will be judged by the Law; 13 for it is not the hearers of the Law who are just before God, but the doers of the Law will be justified.
