As time grows short one of the biggest dividers of the Body will come from Jesus himself. For in the days before His return He will offend the hearts of His people to reveal their true motives. They will be offended at His message and tactics and above all at His very identity. Just as in the days of His first coming the people were offended because they didn't understand or see Him for who He was. The message was clear in words of the prophets of old, but they had placed their own characteristics on who Jesus should be. We see the Jesus as our Saviour that we read of in the Gospels and the Jesus in heaven at the right hand of the Father, but people's hearts will be offended because they lack sight of Him as an earthly king. He is the Son of Man and will rule as fully God and fully Man. He will be a Judge of Justice, but his judgements will offend because He isn't seen from a perspective of the jealous wrath He will bring to the Earth. He is jealous for us and will tread the winepress, and blood will stain His robes. He will literally destroy those who reject Him, and He will do it out of love for us. He will offend because of His Bridegroom role that requires intimacy many are uncomfortable with and unwilling to return. Our perspective must be true to who He is in every aspect, so that we welcome Him in every way. Saviour, Son of Man, King ruling on Earth, Righteous Judge, Warrior of Blood, and our Bridegroom Lover who we call to come. For He will come only at our beckoning. Come near us unto intimacy, come to us unto revival, and come for us unto His return.
Matthew 24:10 And then many will be offended and will begin to distrust and desert.
Mark 4:17 And they have no real root in themselves, and so they endure for a little while; then when trouble or persecution arises on account of the Word, they immediately are offended and fall away.
